An open platform to improve your DnD gameplay

Scryboard lets you build the tools you need to run the game you want.

Scryboard is the app store for your campaign. The platform integrates with the third-party apps players already use, lets you browse new apps built by other DMs and players, and gives you what you need to build your own — all to make your game more immersive and enjoyable. Run a better game the way you want.

A live Scryboard session: the beat tracker, scene intelligence, a rules lookup for Faerie Fire, and player messaging, all on one screen.
A live session, from a real campaign: beats, canon, rules and messages, updating as the table plays.

Apps at work

Apps live inside your campaign

Install an app and it shows up right in your campaign, reading what you've confirmed and giving something useful back.

The CharGen Portraits app inside a campaign, showing a painted illustration of the village of Clifftop generated from the DM's world notes.
CharGen Portraits — paints your NPCs and locations from the descriptions already in your World Bible.
The Scryboard App Marketplace, with featured apps Previously On, Arcana Constellation, STL Forge and XP Suggester.
The Marketplace — browse apps built by other DMs and players, or publish your own.

The open part

Bring your own app

An app is a small script that reads your campaign's tagged data and renders something useful back — a spell-usage histogram, a running NPC roster, a character stat card. It runs in your browser or on your own computer, and can only read and write what its listing declares, which you see before you install it.

Build one in an afternoon against a local mock server and the full API reference, or install one someone else already published.

◆

Scoped, never total

Tokens read what a player would see, or the DM view, and only the parts the app declares. What an app may write is declared up front too, and what it proposes waits for your approval.

◆

Reviewed before it's public

Every Marketplace submission is checked before anyone can install it — not a formality, a real gate.

◆

Test before it's real

A local mock server mirrors the whole API offline, so a new app never has to touch a real campaign to prove itself.

The foundation

The source of truth for your campaign

A live engine turns what happens at your table into structured, ever-sharper data — the source of truth every app on Scryboard reads from. That's what makes the app platform possible in the first place.

01

Reads the table, not just your notes

A homebrew rule someone actually uses, an NPC who just stepped into the scene, a location nobody wrote down — Scryboard's engine catches it as it happens, straight from the table, for DMs and players alike.

02

Prep, structured too

Upload notes across six layers — world bible, adventure structure, session prep, PC notes, homebrew, session history. The same engine extracts beats, characters, factions, items, and rules — you verify what it found before it counts as canon.

03

Self-learning, and getting sharper

Every DM correction sharpens what the engine catches in your own campaign, session after session. It can also strengthen a shared, reviewed pattern library across campaigns — any DM who'd rather keep corrections private can turn that off.

Sessions, transcripts, combat state, rules lookups, character data — all readable through a scoped access token. This is the source of truth every app on Scryboard builds on. What you build against it is up to you.
